Meet Julie & Tyler West of Colorado Trailers Inc

The Prairie Times stopped in for a visit.

Julie was delighted to tell us all about their business. “My husband and our family have a lot of past experience. We’ve been in the vehicle/auto industry for about 20 years and trailers specifically for the past several years. We decided that we wanted to do things our own way and give people that small town experience with personal customer service.”

When asked why someone should do business with them, she answered, “We try to provide the best price with the best customer service that we possibly can. We try to make sure the customer gets exactly what they want without having to haggle. We all work together. There is no competition here. Every customer gets all of us when they’re here, to help them with their needs. We all pitch in and do what we need to do to take care of the customer. We want to make sure they have a good experience and they walk out happy.”

Julie’s face lights up as she tells us about the store. “We carry four great lines of new trailers and a great variety of accessories including diesel performance parts, SUV parts, trailer parts and accessories, running boards, hitches, chip and gauge packages, and performance parts. We have a partnership with a huge distributor, so we can pretty much get anything that anybody needs for their truck or trailer. Our main focus is cargo trailers, horse trailers, flatbed trailers, utility trailers, and dump trailers.”

We asked her what brands she carries and why. She said, “We carry Lark because they are a competitively priced trailer that comes with a 5 year limited manufacturers warranty, which is the best in the business. Sharp is a higher end cargo trailer—they offer smooth skin and torsion axles. We have CM, the #1 horse trailer in America and Load Trail for flatbed, utility, and dump trailers.”

Julie was eager to tell us about their consignment program. “We have a great program for people looking to get more exposure for the trailers they need to sell. We also offer storage for boats, campers, and RV’s.”

She walks us out and shakes our hands. “Our family has been in Douglas County for over 50 years. We are proud that we’re a family-run business. We like to provide our customers with that solid, old-fashioned home town experience.”
